Order from Hoppo to hong merchants Arriaga, Macao, states that he cannot take over Adeodato, Anselm, Ferretti and Conforti, sent from Peking to be put on a ship for Portugal, as they are Italians and not Portuguese. The taipan is to ascertain whether an Italian ship is at Whampoa and if not to arrange for the men's passage to somewhere near Italy.
