Around March 1955, the U.S. and China Nationalist Government work together to obstruct the flow of petroleum products into Communist China. The latter can only get those products from the Soviet Union and domestic production, which cannot meet the need of annual domestic demand. Therefore, the Chinese communists are intensifying efforts to obtain petroleum products, chiefly from Macau.
